How Pammy Sue’s Salsa Came To Be
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away lived a Momma Pepper and a Papa Pepper who loved salsa. They tried all the salsas in the kingdom. Some were too bland, some were too sweet, but none were just right.
One day, Papa Pepper wanted some salsa but the cupboard was bare. Then Momma Pepper decided to make her own salsa for Papa Pepper. So she went to the garden and picked the finest tomatoes, green chilies, onions and herbs. Back to the kitchen she dashed. She chopped and she diced, she cooked and she stirred, then she grabbed her spices from above. With a dash of this and a pinch of that she simmered and tasted ‘till it was just right. Momma Pepper served the new creation to Papa Pepper and Papa Pepper said “This MEDIUM Salsa is just perfect!”
Baby Sister Pepper tried the new salsa and proclaimed, “Ooh, this is too hot for ME!” Big Bro Pepper tasted it and said, “It’s tasty but not spicy enough!” So Momma Pepper went back into her magical kitchen. Soon she appeared with a MILD Salsa and a HOT Salsa for her babies to try. Baby Sister Pepper tried the MILD Salsa and was happy. Big Bro Pepper declared, “This is good, but it is still not hot enough.” So Momma Pepper disappeared once again into her magical kitchen.
Suddenly, thunder was heard and lightning was seen coming from the magical kitchen. Momma Pepper burst through the door with FIRE in her hand. Big Bro Pepper took the jar and dipped his spoon and took a big scoop. “Mmmmm….” he said, “But where is the heat?” Momma Pepper just smiled and said, “Wait for it.” Then all of a sudden smoke started to come from Big Bro’s ears! With his eyes all aglow, he said, “Oooooo…..That’s FIRE!!”

Then the winter came and Momma Pepper was hibernating in her cave with dreams of fruitiness dancing in her head. She awoke with an idea of a need for variety in her salsas and the dishes they would accent. “I love fish and I love enchiladas”, she stated. Back to her magical kitchen Momma Pepper flew. Out she came with MANGO for salmon, PINEAPPLE for prawns, and TOMATILLO for chicken enchiladas, and CORN & BLACK BEAN for quesadillas. Momma Pepper shared her salsas with the kingdom to rave reviews. Over the summer an abundance of jalapenos were discovered and Momma Pepper wondered what to do with them. “Ooooo… What if we roast them and add them to my salsa?” she pondered. Out of the magical kitchen, ROASTED JALAPENO came and the kingdom rejoiced. “We love your salsas! There is nothing like them in all the realm. Please make more, Momma Pepper?!?” So Momma Pepper’s Salsa, oops Pammy Sue’s Salsa became a big hit throughout the kingdom.
And that is how the story began…..
